I've been listening to Caruso's "La Donna ? Mobile," finally found a full version with the Master himself.

I think it'd sound pretty good done in a Sweet style with operatic vocals.

    Caruso, one of the greats...

I'll play along with you Jay, even if these boring bastards won't.

I think Ride of the Valkiries would be fun by Motley Crue.
The obvious one would be Carmina Burana by... Ozzy of Course.

I cant quite decide whether I would like to hear The Banana Splitz do Ace of Spades or Motorhead do the Banana Splitz song. Tough one.

<font size="4" face="Arial">Well, you've given a different spin to my topic than I intended, but no matter. It would be interesting to hear "rocking" versions of opera pieces as I gather you are discussing. Ritchie Blackmore did Hall of The Mountain King in the 1960s. Kim Fowley covered Nutcracker Theme in the same era, in fact, he produced his and RB's cover as well.

Sweet would be interesting for "Donna" due to both the operatic vocals and the general pissed off at women lyrics of that aria, something Sweet tunes such as "Solid Gold Brass" contain in spades.

Speaking of spades, Ian and Friends doing the Banana Splits Theme would sound good. As for the BSs doing MHead, I understand Snorkel did too much coke in the 1970s, so his voice/talent is shot. I may be wrong, I hope so.

I'd like to hear SuziQ cover "FumFumFum," the 15 century Spanish carol.

I used to post threads like this all the time in the old days and get plenty of responses, but that was then and this is now. Carry on.

<font size="4" face="Arial">I hear Motorhead's drummer is a bit incapacitated, so you'll have to do his drumming for him.

Don't forget to pick a cover song that Fleagle can duet with Lemmy.

I haven't heard of any of the songs you're suggestiong.... uless Donna is that old Pop song David JOhansen covered?

I think Don't Bother with Shakira would be cool with hmmmmm.... Poison.

Phantom Of The Operah would be great with Alice Cooper.

Any of the 50's girl goup songs would work with the NY Dolls or any bubblegum glam band.

What about Motley Crue doing Bite It by GG Allin?

<font size="4" face="Arial">The "Donna" I'm talking about is short for "La Donna ? Mobile," an aria from "Rigoletto" by Giuseppe Verdi. Some might say that Freddie Mercury, would be more suited than Brian Connolly, but considering several factors, I'd say Brian.

Was that "Donna" that Johansen covered the Ritchie Valens song?
